People / Students / Class of 2026
Mu He graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in December 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science and Economics, finishing in the top 20% of her class. During her undergraduate studies, she developed a strong foundation in statistics, programming, and econometrics, which gave her the opportunity to explore how data can be applied across business and research contexts. She was named to the Dean’s List through Fall 2023 and completed multiple projects involving predictive modeling and large-scale data analysis.
Her academic interests extended into research, where she contributed to a published project in healthcare natural language processing, analyzing clinical text and building models to identify risk factors. In her internships, Mu worked with datasets containing millions of records, developed predictive models, and created dashboards that reduced reporting time for business teams. These experiences deepened her interest in bridging machine learning with practical applications in industry.
Seeking to expand her knowledge and technical expertise, Mu joined Northwestern University’s Machine Learning and Data Science (MLDS) program in September 2025. She is especially excited about the program’s emphasis on interdisciplinary learning and collaboration through practicum projects. In the long run, she hopes to pursue a career in data science or machine learning, applying advanced analytics to solve complex problems in industry and society. Outside of school, she enjoys exploring new technologies, playing sports, and traveling.
