Shuoyu (Dorrie) Ge graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics, where she built a strong foundation in statistical analysis, optimization, and computational modeling. Proficient in Python, C++ and SQL, she has developed and applied machine learning models for investment analysis and market forecasting during internships at several securities firms. Her work involved financial modeling, data cleaning, and feature engineering for real-world datasets. She also explored mathematical modeling in ecological systems, combining theory with simulation to gain actionable insights. Her research experience includes statistical modeling and time series forecasting using R, with a focus on ARIMA and SARIMA models. One of her studies on gender wage gaps in the UK has been accepted for publication. Passionate about bridging data and decision-making, Shuoyu is eager to further deepen her skills in machine learning and analytics at Northwestern, and to collaborate on real-world capstone projects that generate meaningful insights. In her spare time, she enjoys creative writing, café-hopping, and spending time with her cat who occasionally joins her Zoom meetings.
