MLDS 490: Sports Analytics

Description

Introduction to Sports Analytics is a five-week course that discusses statistical applications in sports and how data science connects to modern front offices and sport companies. Students will learn the foundation of sports analytics and advance to building applications that can be used for companies in sports. Such foundations include researching historical data, understanding data constraints and wrangling sports data.

Further applications include predicting future events with sports data and building pipelines to create informed decisions. Students should be able to identify trends in sports and answer key questions statistically for players, teams, and/or leagues.
