CHEM_ENG 410: Principles of Heterogeneous Catalysis

This course is not currently offered.

Description

This course will provide students with the necessary training to conduct independent research in heterogeneous catalysis, as practiced in thermal- and electro-catalytic laboratory-based experiments. The course will teach students the elementary principles of common experimental methods/tools, outline best practices for rigorous and reproducible methods (for surface area evaluation, site counting, reactor setup, product detection, rate analysis, etc.), provide hands-on experience working with laboratory equipment, and help develop understanding of common types of data analysis with parallel applications and practice in thermal and electrocatalytic examples.
