MS Career Bootcamp

Each academic year, Engineering Career Development offers a Career Bootcamp for master's students. The bootcamp is a training day in which participants learn key career development skills in a condensed amount of time. Topics covered include resume writing, interviewing, networking, and job searching.

Please complete the following steps to register for the MS Bootcamp session:

  1. Log into McCormickConnect, Engineering Career Development's student and employer database.
  2. After logging in, you will be directed to create a profile. Please fill in as many fields as possible.
  3. After completing your profile, click on "Career Events" within McCormickConnect.
  4. Locate the "McCormick MS Career Bootcamp" event and click on the event.
  5. Click on "Register for Event" and then click "Save" to complete your registration.

Please note that space is limited for each session, so be sure to register as soon as possible.

A typical agenda will consist of the following:

9:00 - 9:30 – Overview of Engineering Career Development
9:30 - 10:15 – Writing Resumes
10:15 - 11:00 – Job Search
11:00 - 11:15 - Break
11:15 - Noon – Networking
Noon - 1:00 - Networking Reception Lunch – take advantage of an opportunity to network with fellow MS students and get a free lunch!
1:00 - 1:30 - Career Fair Prep
1:30 - 2:15 - Interviewing
2:15 - 3:00 - Job Offers
3:00 - 3:15  - Conclusion

How can I prepare for the Bootcamp?

After you have registered for an MS Bootcamp session, ensure that you have updated your profile in McCormickConnect.

Feel free to bring your laptop or notebook/pen to take notes. Supplemental materials will be provided at the event.
