For Students
Please remember:
- Pre-registration through Handshake is encouraged for all career fairs, though students may register on-site the day of the event.
- A valid Northwestern Wildcard is required for entry.
- Professional attire is recommended. Students are encouraged to dress professionally and present themselves in a manner appropriate for networking with employers.
- Research employers before attending to make the most of your conversations.
- Search McCormickConnect and Handshake for available positions and apply for the position(s) ahead of time so companies know you’re interested.
- Bring copies of your resume and business cards! Your resume should be uploaded into McCormickConnect.
- Check Handshake regularly, as participating employers and opportunities may be updated leading up to each event.
- Career fair attendance is open to Northwestern undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni unless otherwise noted.
Additional Information for Virtual Fairs:
- Make sure you are in a well-lit and ideally quiet environment that is free of distractions.
- Test your internet connection to ensure it's strong and working.
- Confirm that your webcam works properly.
- If you are using a laptop, cellphone, or tablet, fully charge your device prior to the event.
- It is appropriate to be dressed “up” for the event. A suit and tie are definitely too much, but a polo shirt, sweater, blouse, etc. would be appropriate.
- Employer Schedules: Employer schedules will continue to evolve leading up to the fair day, so we recommend you follow employers in order to be notified when their schedule is created
- Attendance at Sessions: Students should only register for group and 1:1 sessions in which they have the full intention of attending. Engineering Career Development (ECD) follows the same guidelines and expectations as Northwestern Career Advancement (NCA) Please review NCA’s attendance policy and expectations for more information
Check back regularly to see which companies are coming! List is subject to change.
