Ilesha Sawarkar has a Bachelor of Technology with a major in Computer Engineering from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai covering courses like Soft Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Biometrics, etc. She also completed Simplilearn's and Purdue University's comprehensive one-year Post-Graduate Program in AI and ML in 2021, in partnership with IBM covering modules like Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Generative-Adversarial Networks (GANs), Natural Language Processing, Speech Recognition, and Reinforcement Learning, etc. She has implemented the acquired skills in solving a real-world problem of cybersecurity involving the prevention of phishing and malware attacks as a part of the Capstone project. Additionally, her B Tech internship projects also covered implementing prominent DL models such as Tensor Flow and Keras, as well as neural networks for fraud detection in the banking & insurance domain and NLP-enabled marketing of products. Apart from the application of AI in Banking and Insurance domains, Ilesha is also fascinated by its application in the early detection and cure of some life-threatening diseases and is looking forward to applying the knowledge and expertise gained so far by contributing to the latest innovations by developing systems in the Healthcare domain. She plans to reinforce and expand her knowledge of the core intricacies of AI and ML during the MS program at Northwestern University by diving deep into these domains and working on cutting-edge technologies that push the boundaries and create a difference in the lives of millions.
