Study Options
The MSIT program offers flexibility for both our full-time and part-time students. The majority of MSIT classes are held on Saturdays, with additional courses offered remotely on weekdays. No MSIT courses are held during summer quarter.
Full-Time
Full-time students can choose from two degree timelines. Students can complete their degree in 10 months (3 quarters), beginning in September and graduating in June. Students can also earn their degree in 15 months (4 quarters), beginning in September and graduating the following December. Full-time students take 3-4 units per quarter.
An ideal option for those who:
- Will be on visa
- Aim to complete the program on a faster timeline
- Wish to take courses outside of the MSIT program in other departments
- Are interested in completing a summer internship (optional)
Part-Time
Part-time students complete their degree in 2 years (6 quarters), beginning in September and graduating in June of their second year. Part-time students take 2 units per quarter.
An ideal option for those who:
- Wish to continue working while in the program
- Aim to complete the program on a longer timeline
- Have obligations that prevent them from attending weekday classes
