MSIT New Student Perspective

Meerim Musabaeva shares why the MSIT program appealed to her and how she thinks it will help her grow the IT consulting business she founded two years ago.

Meerim Musabaeva founded Innova Loop, an IT consulting service, in November 2021.

To help her company grow, she turned to Northwestern Engineering's Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) program.

What was it about MSIT that initially appealed to you? 

The inclusion of technical courses ensures a solid foundation in the latest advancements and practical skills required to navigate the dynamic landscape of information technology. Simultaneously, the incorporation of business courses equips students with a strategic understanding of how technology integrates into organizational objectives and decision-making processes. This dual focus not only aligns with my career goals but also reflects the contemporary demands of the IT sector. 

What are you most looking forward to about your MSIT experience? 

I am hoping that the MSIT program's holistic approach will not only deepen my technical expertise but also cultivate a well-rounded skill set, positioning me to thrive in diverse professional scenarios. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to engage with the curriculum, interact with experienced faculty, and collaborate with fellow students to enhance both my technical and business proficiencies. 

What do you hope to do professionally after MSIT? 

I applied to the MSIT program with the goal of expanding my consulting services portfolio. By gaining a balanced mix of technical and business expertise, I aim to enhance customer relationships, provide a high level of customer experience, and overall grow my business. I am confident that this program will equip me with the skills needed to achieve these objectives. 

How do you think MSIT will help you expand your consulting services portfolio? 

The technical courses will deepen my understanding of current advancements in information technology, ensuring I stay at the forefront of industry trends. Simultaneously, the business courses will equip me with strategic thinking and decision-making skills, enabling me to integrate technology seamlessly into organizational objectives. The MSIT program will enhance my ability to address complex challenges, contribute valuable insights, and elevate the overall quality of customer experience in my consulting services.  

Is there anything else you'd like to add? 

I am sincerely grateful to be a part of the Northwestern community. The diversity and talent among my classmates create a dynamic and enriching learning environment that excites me about my future endeavors. The blend of perspectives and experiences within this community not only enhances my academic journey but also fuels my anticipation for the collaborative and inspiring professional landscape that lies ahead. I look forward to contributing to and learning from this vibrant community throughout my time at Northwestern and beyond.
