CryptoCon 2018: ‘An Introduction to Cryptocurrency Trading’

Cryptocon 2018

Recently concluded CryptoCon 2018, was a conference organized by FinTank in partnership with Northwestern Pritzker School of Law’s Donald Pritzker Entrepreneurship Law Center and the Master of Science in Law program. It featured talks from leading experts from around the world in the field of cryptocurrency. There were numerous expert panels, breakout sessions, hosted by over fifty leaders in the field that welcomed plenty of networking opportunities.

Muhammad Asad Khan, a full-time MEM student attended the conference and later shared his views about the session ‘An Introduction to Cryptocurrency Trading‘ by Dr Izzy Nelken

An Introduction to Cryptocurrency Trading was one of the several talks arranged by Northwestern Pritzker School of Law at the 2018 FinTank CryptoCon.  Given my interest in Cryptocurrency and the disruptive Blockchain technology, I was excited to be connected to this emerging eco-system.

The session was facilitated by Dr Izzy Nelken, a seasoned teacher, practitioner, and author of several books. The presentation covered various dimensions of digital currencies, including legal as well as socioeconomic perspectives, starting from mining, buying and trading. The highlight, however, was the demonstration showcasing the impregnability of these digital ledgers and their immunity to cyber attacks despite being hosted in the cloud. The session was also attended by a diverse group of faculty, students and practitioners from the law, business, and policy disciplines – thereby invited queries were not restricted to a particular field. These engagements (healthy for the most part) provided a great learning experience.

From my viewpoint, the session broadened my knowledge about Blockchain technology, its lingo, and areas of further development in this space. I encourage my MEM classmates to inquire more about this new technology. Thanks to MEM for sponsoring the tickets!”
