New BME MS program with a focus on Global Health

Four new MS students have arrived on campus and begun work on designing an inexpensive digital x-ray system for use in clinics in developing countries. In this program Northwestern University, in association with the University of Cape Town, offers an 18 month program leading to an MS degree in Biomedical Engineering with a focus on health care technology in the developing world. This is a project-based, design-intensive degree in which students will spend up to six months in Africa doing supervised field work.
