Careers / ArchivesPostdoctoral Position in Organic Bioelectronics
A postdoctoral position is currently available in the laboratory of Dr. Jonathan Rivnay at Northwestern University, Department of Biomedical Engineering, to develop biomedical devices that utilize soft, electroactive and/or organic electronic materials. The project involves fabrication, validation, and translation of recording and stimulating devices that bridge the signaling gap between electronic/optical systems and biological tissue. Successful candidates should be highly motivated and have a Ph.D. with a strong background in fabrication (including photolithography) and electrical engineering (circuit/device design and characterization) or materials chemistry/characterization. Experience with cell culture, implantation and/or histology, especially in the area of neuroengineering or biomaterials is highly desired. The Rivnay group explores the unique aspects of electrically and optically active polymers for sensing and actuation to address mismatches at the biotic/abiotic interface.
