BME 404: Special Topics in Systems Physiology

VIEW ALL COURSE TIMES AND SESSIONS

Description

The objective of this course is to train biomedical engineering PhD students in the critical analysis of scientific papers, specifically in the field of systems physiology.  Enrollees will also receive instruction in the presentation of scientific data in a manner appropriate for delivery at a professional scientific meeting.  In the process, those taking the course will develop a deeper understanding of systems physiology than that obtained in a standard physiology course.  BMD 404-1 will cover important papers from the field of neural systems physiology, BMD 404-2 will cover papers in the fields of cardiovascular and respiratory physiology, and BMD 404-3 will cover papers in endocrine, gastrointestinal, hepatic, and renal physiology.  The course will be delivered via a video link and can be taken from either the Evanston or Chicago campuses.
