- Microbial kinetics
- Bioreactor operations - batch, continuous, and fed-batch modes
- Models for cellular systems - unstructured, structured, lumped and population models
- Mixing and mass transfer in bioreactors
- Heat transfer and sterilization
- Applications and examples - fermentation, cell culture, biotransformations
