Hi, I’m Ian Farrington. I was born in California and raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in management information systems from the University of Wisconsin–Parkside. I currently work as a telecommunications technician here at Northwestern. (Go 'Cats!)
I’m proud to follow in my grandfather’s footsteps, he also worked here at Northwestern, in the Vogelback Computing Center, while earning his master’s degree from McCormick back in the ‘70s and ’80s. I’m passionate about IT infrastructure, networking, and security, and I’m especially interested in making a meaningful impact in the higher education or public sector.
Outside of work, I volunteer as a technology literacy tutor at the Howard Evanston Community Center. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, staying active, traveling, hockey, snowboarding, the outdoors, and learning.
