IEMS Department Chair Barry Nelson Wins IIE Transactions Best Paper Award

IEMS Department Chair Barry Nelson's joint paper with L. Jeff Hong won the most recent IIE Transactions Best Paper Award - Operations.
L. Jeff Hong has his Ph.D. from Northwestern's IEMS Department and is currently at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
The award is for their paper: L. J. Hong and B. L. Nelson, "Selecting the Best System when Systems are Revealed Sequentially," IIE Transactions, 39 (2007), 723-734. The award will be presented at the upcoming IIE Annual Conference in Miami.
