The Northwestern University Student Affairs Recognition Committee has named IEMS senior Marissa Walker the Fall 2019 Wildcat Impact Award winner in the Collaboration category.  The award recognizes a number of her contributions to the department and its students, including her work as a Peer Mentor and alongside Professor Jill Wilson in developing a focus group for IEMS students from underrepresented backgrounds.  Professor Wilson, who nominated Walker for the awards, describes her as "an excellent example of a servant leader.  She works hard and produces high-quality work, leading by example with her pursuit of excellence, her positive outlook, and her willingness to help her fellow students."  Walker has also served as a student worker in the IEMS department for the past four years, and has brought the same dedication and compassion for students to her time in the role.

The Wildcat Impact Awards "recognize students who have significantly contributed to improving the quality of student life during the past academic term at Northwestern."  Walker is one of six students from throughout the University who will be recognized this quarter, and and will be highlighted alongside the other winners in a display at the Norris Center.
