VIDEOS: Students Build Software Businesses in NUvention: Web
NUvention: Web, a course in which undergraduate and graduate students from across the university design, build, and run software-based businesses in multi-disciplinary teams, is finishing up its second quarter.
In the first quarter of the course, teams came up with an original product concept, did market research, built a business case, and presented what they had done to the advisory board. During the second quarter they built and launched their web and mobile-based product.
"I've always been interested in entrepreneurship and innovation," says Jeff Eiden, a communication studies sophomore. "Sometime this quarter we're actually going to launch our web site that we're creating. That's a unique experience that I've never seen anywhere else on an academic campus, and I wanted to be a part of it."
Two teams took time to share how they created their concept, how they made that concept a reality, and what the class ultimately taught them.
