Emily Ayshford Awarded University Circle Scholarship

Emily Ayshford, writer in the Department of Marketing and External Communications, was one of two employees awarded a scholarship from the University Circle. The scholarship assists University employees who are taking courses through the School of Continuing Studies with tuition and other student fees.

Ayshford is pursuing a master of fine arts in creative writing with an emphasis on fiction writing. The scholarship will fund two classes toward her degree.

Eligibility is limited to employees of the University and who are working toward the completion of a degree or certificate through Northwestern's School of Continuing Studies. Preference is to members of the University Circle and to women. The scholarship is funded by donations from the Circle membership as well as the general public.

Founded in 1915, the University Circle provides opportunities for Northwestern University women to participate in service, scholarship and social activities that enhance the University community. The group provides a variety of activities, some including spouses, which bring together faculty, administration, staff, wives and families from the different schools.
