First-Year Graduate Workshop

The workshop, for incoming first-year ESAM graduate students, is designed and taught by current graduate students. Participating will allow you to:

Prepare for coursework

  • Review prerequisite materials
  • Introduction to computational software
  • Explanation of available resources

Acclimate to life in the department

  • Campus and building tours
  • Overview of department programs and events
  • Advice for the year

Build relationships before classes begin

  • Meet your classmates and older students
  • Q&A sessions over lunch
  • Evening excursions (optional)
