Biography

Cathryn Lai is a gaming executive with more than 15+ years experience in new product development, innovation and strategy. As Chief Commercial Officer, Cathryn is focused on driving OpenBet’s commercial operations, product strategy, and partnerships in the sports betting and gaming ecosystem.  Through her industry expertise and thought leadership, Cathryn has been instrumental in driving OpenBet’s market leader position as sports betting continues to quickly legalize across the US and other new markets.

As a product leader, she has brought many successful new products and technologies to market. Previously, Cathryn served as the Senior Vice President of Products and Marketing for Scientific Games where she led the product, commercial, and marketing strategies for casino based electronic games.

A gaming industry thought leader, Cathryn has been recognized as one of the “25 to Watch” and “40 under 40 Emerging Leaders” by Global Gaming Business. Cathryn also serves on the Board of Directors for AVIXA™ the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association that drives standards, industry strategies, professional association, and trade shows for the audio visual industry.  Cathryn is very passionate about driving Diversity Equity and Inclusion and has spearheaded multiple initiatives to support and elevate women within the gaming and sports betting industry. 

Cathryn’s expertise is in strategy, product management, innovation, and new product development.  Her goal is to drive critical and innovative thinking among students in hopes to provide them the tools and foundation to become thought leaders in their industries.
