Dr. Casadio uses art objects as portals for dialogue between science and art. Her research interests lie in the application and development of scientific methods to the study of works of art, often in collaboration with academic and international partners. Her study of artists’ materials and techniques ranges from antiquity to contemporary art, with a special interest in painting materials and 18th century European porcelain. Dr. Casadio is also interested in art conservation. She shares her passion by promoting public engagement with museum objects through the creation of public programs, digital initiatives, curricular and other training activities.
