Application Requirements
To apply you must:
- Be a current Northwestern undergraduate student (sophomore or above) graduating no sooner than Winter 2028
- Complete COMP_SCI 150 or GEN_ENG 150 or GEN_ENG 151 no later than Winter 2027
- If applying for DS or Hybrid tracks, commit to taking DATA_ENG 200 in Winter or Spring of 2027 (Must take COMP_SCI 150 or GEN_ENG 150 or GEN_ENG 151 before this)
*We will admit seniors as space allows for 2026-2027. Seniors must be able to take DATA_ENG 200/300 in Winter and Spring 2027.
Incoming freshmen: Welcome to Northwestern! The current application is open to second-year students or above, except for transfer students. We encourage you to have the discussion of taking this minor with your academic advisor once you onboard. If spaces allow this year, you may be able to take some of the classes in the minor and complete the application by the end of the academic year. Consider joining the Q&A session to learn more!
A small number of students graduating prior to Spring 2027 may be admitted if space allows. Interested students are welcome to apply.
