Michael graduated from the University of Houston in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Science (with honors) in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics, where he focused on numerical methods, mechanical design, and control systems. During his undergraduate career, he teamed with students in UH’s NanoTherm lab to study thermally responsive polymers, and interned at Lockheed Martin’s Cargo Mission Contract. After working as a Mechanical Engineer at McFarland Pumps, Michael decided to follow his passion for robotics by entering Northwestern’s MSR program.

As a member of the MSR cohort, Michael hopes to further his knowledge of computer vision, machine learning, and robotic system design. After his time at Northwestern, he hopes to find a career working on cutting-edge robotic systems with consumer and industrial applications.

Outside of his studies, Michael enjoys going to concerts, mountain biking, and working on cars (including his 1985 Toyota MR2).
