EECS 327: Electronic System Design II

EECS 326 or instructor consent.

Description

Electronic System Design II. This course will put to practice the knowl-edge gained in Electronic System Design I, and have students create a fully functional prototype implementation. This involves the same principles as in Electronic System Design I, but more independently, and with some design optimization.

Specifically, students will add modules to the system they develop in Electronic System Design I, such as motion sensors, a pan/tilt base, etc. They will then work to optimize their design, e.g. PCB size, cost, and power utilization. Finally, students will present their work to a panel of judges, who will judge based on system functionality, cost, aesthetics, and other metrics.

  • If you have senior standing, this course can count towards the Design Degree Requirement in EE. You need to fill a petition form for this.
