Application Requirements
To apply you must:
- Be a current McCormick undergraduate student graduating no sooner than Winter 2026
- Complete Comp_SCI 150 no later than Winter 2025
- Commit to taking DATA_ENG 200 in Winter or Spring of 2025 (Must take CS150 before this)
*We will admit seniors as space allows for 2024-2025. Seniors must be able to take DATA_ENG 200/300 in Winter and Spring 2025.
If interest exceeds capacity, students will be chosen from the applicant pool by lottery and all will be notified about their status by email.
A small number of students graduating prior to Spring 2025 may be admitted if space allows. Interested students are welcome to apply.
Confirming Participation after Acceptance into the Program
To confirm participation in the program, each student must:
- Submit a minor declaration form in MAS no later than September 2, 2024
- Complete CS 150 before beginning DATA_ENG 200
Students must register for DATA_ENG 200 in Winter 2025 or Spring 2025, or must reapply to the program the following year. DATA_ENG 300 will be offered in Winter 2025 and Spring 2025, and requires completion of one course in each of Statistics Foundations, Machine Learning, and Intermediate Programming and Algorithmic Thinking.
