Description

Learn about the critical factors of solid waste landfill regulations, design, operations, and closure. Get a firm grasp of the background and design specifics to design solid waste management units.  Elements of solid waste management unit design will include geotechnical, site civil, hydraulics, structural and hydrogeologic principles.  Gain an understanding of practical and emerging solid waste and containment technologies including:

  • Regulatory background and history of solid waste regulations in the USA;
  • Liner design and analysis;
  • Leachate generation and management techniques;
  • Landfill gas modeling, design, and operating practices;
  • Standard management practices for landfill construction quality assurance activities and solid waste operations;
  • Emerging issues with elevated temperature, CCR, PFAS topics; and
  • Recent soldi waste case histories.
