Dr. Christopher Henry Named Jay Bailey Young Investigator in Metabolic Engineering

Dr. Christopher Henry, an adjunct professor in our department and a researcher at Argonne National Laboratory, has been named the recipient of the Jay Bailey Young Investigator Award in Metabolic Engineering.

The purpose of the award is to recognize outstanding research accomplishments in the field of metabolic engineering by a young investigator who has advanced the frontiers of metabolic engineering through originality and creativity of experimental or computational concept application.

Chris was nominated for his paper in Nature Biotechnology ((2010) 28:977–982) that marks the release of Model SEED, a widely-used resource for the reconstruction of genome-scale metabolic models. The manuscript also included models for 130 diverse prokaryotes.

Congratulations, Chris!
