Area of Corporate Research and Development

Chris Campbell, Corporate Research Materials Laboratory, St. Paul
His fundamental studies in the science of adhesion have resulted in “game changing” advances in the development of proprietary classes of new structural adhesives that adhere to oily surfaces. This new adhesive platform is expected to result in multiple commercializations in 2009.

Stan Rendon, Corporate Research Process Laboratory, St. Paul
For championing the development of unique tooling and microinjection molding processes that dramatically reduce costs and increase manufacturing throughput for microneedle arrays, both solid and hollow, for macromolecular transdermal drug delivery systems. With 18 Record of Inventions and three patent applications in the past two years, he has had a significant impact on the IP landscape and has shared his expertise by teaching several popular molding classes, which led to him being named 2008 Tech Forum Educator of the Year.
