Aparna earned her Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Calicut. Since then, she has worked in various capacities for American Express (AZ USA, KA India) before joining Northwestern.

At American Express, She has been at the forefront of developing and leading innovative solutions across various domains such as Machine Learning, Blockchain, Payment and reward capabilities. One of the pioneers in building proprietary blockchain platforms that hosted various blockchain networks and applications . As a Machine Learning Engineer, she has experience in developing Machine Learning Algorithms, Data Visualization, and Optimization. She has implemented solutions pertaining to Image and Text Classification, Machine Translation, Search and Question Answering.

With her passion and expertise in AI, Aparna aspires to be instrumental in shaping how AI is being used to design and build solutions in the industry. Her current interests lie in the fields of Computer Vision and Reinforcement Learning, and AI ethics.
