Research Interests

The major areas addressed during my R&D activity were those of (1) machine learning and (bio)medical signal and image processing, (2) home care systems through innovative open and closed loop telemonitoring systems, (3) in silico modeling and simulation of non-linear biological systems using high performance computing (HPC in cardiorespiratory, immune, neuro systems), (4) eHealth/mHealth personalized health (pHealth) systems and technologies, (5) patient safety informatics, connected health and integrated care systems (6) multi-level medical decision support systems, (7) behavioral informatics (preventing/manage eating disorders, rehabilitation and obesity), (8) bioinformatics and informatics for big (bio)data management and analytics.

Application medical areas are the cardiorespiratory systems, cancer, neurosciences, metabolism, immunogenetics and sleep disorders.
