Abstract: Pathology labs are emerging as the foremost data generators in our healthcare systems, with advanced imaging and genomic sequencing technologies producing tens of petabytes over the next decade. Machine learning and computing will be essential in transforming these data into improved diagnostics. This talk will provide an overview of challenges in this area and discuss how pathology applications can motivate fundamental research in engineering.
