NU IEEE Hosts Successfully Innovative BadHacks Hackathon Competition

Have you ever had a terrible idea? Probably.

On Saturday, March 5th, students were challenged in over 8 hours of hacking and creative inspiration to come up with and develop the worst, most terribly awful ideas you can think of at BadHacks, hosted by NU IEEE and held at The Garage. 

The successful event saw over 40 hackers participate, with about half staying the entire 8 hours and completing exciting cumulative projects. Many of the participants had never experienced a hackathon before and attended BadHacks because it was short, casual, and fun. Prizes were awarded to the top projects, with the judging system determined by popular vote.

Previously, the group held tutorial workshops and offered technical assistance to all participants, so to foster an active kinestheticly creative learning experience. Many participants arrived at the hackathon with pre-formed ideas, which were aided by the use Myo Armbands and Leap Motion controllers made available for use.
