Chang Liu (Ph.D. Student) & Randy Berry Presented with Bell Labs Best Paper Award for Smart Data Pricing Research at IEEE SDP 2015

Chang Liu, a third year PhD candidate in EECS, and her Adviser Prof. Randall Berry, received the first annual "Bell Labs Best Paper Award for Smart Data Pricing Research.

Chang Liu & Matthew Andrews, IEEE SDP Workshop Chair.Chang Liu, a third year PhD candidate in EECS, and her Adviser Prof. Randall Berry, received the first annual "Bell Labs Best Paper Award for Smart Data Pricing Research,” at the 4th IEEE Workshop on Smart Data Pricing (SDP). The award was given for their paper, "Investing and Price Competition for Multiple Bands of Unlicensed Spectrum", which was presented at the SDP workshop on April 27th in Hong Kong as part the IEEE INFOCOM conference.

Liu is a member of the Communications and Networking Laboratory and is completing work that is focused on spectrum markets. As telecommunications researcher, her other interests are wireless communications, economics, quantitative analytic, game theory, data science and optimization.

The SDP workshop solicits contributions describing analyses of state-of-the-art pricing mechanisms, results of ongoing research, open issues, trends, pricing-related signaling protocols, net-neutrality related policy implications, standardization activities, and new ideas in smart pricing and economic models that can help alleviate network congestion.
