Haoqi Zhang Discusses Pair Research Funded by Provost's Digital Learning Fellowship in Interview

The platform simplifies the process of asking for and receiving help, as well as, providing a digital space where a community can form around a project.

Prof. Haoqi Zhang & Prof. Liz Gerber

Prof. Haoqi Zhang has has been interviewed, along with his primary collaborator Prof. Liz Gerber, School of Communication for a Digital Learning at Northwestern article discussing how the Pair Research platform can simplify the process of asking for and receiving help. The platform provides a digital space where a community can form around a project. When a member of the community encounters a problem in their work that they need help with, they type in a request for help and other community members respond, rating their ability to help on a scale of one to five. A matching algorithm then recommends the most optimal pairings for collaboration, allowing work to move forward more quickly as experts are paired with the person who needs help.

Prof. Zhang works alongside Prof. Gerber in the Delta Lab, an interdisciplinary research lab and design studio at Northwestern University, whose driving mission is to improve the way we design, work, learn, play, and fundamentally change the way we interact.
