EECS Ph.D. Student Dawei Li Awarded Universities Research Association (URA) Visiting Scholar Fellowship
Dawei is the 1st ever recipient of this prestigious fellowship from Northwestern EECS Department and the 2nd winner in the history of URA's fellowship from Northwestern.
EECS Ph.D. Student Dawei Li has been awarded the Universities Research Association (URA) Visiting Scholar Fellowship. Dawei is the 1st ever recipient of this prestigious fellowship from Northwestern EECS Department and the 2nd winner in the history of URA's fellowship from Northwestern.
In his 3rd year of PhD studies and under advivement by Prof. Seda Ogrenci-Memik, Dawei, a member of the Ogrenci Memik Lab will spend this fellowship to fund a 10-month visit at the Fermi Labs. Dawei, Prof. Memik, and Dr. Ted Liu from Fermi have an ongoing collaboration on thermal analysis of next generation embedded chips in instrumentation equipment for high energy physics experiments at Fermi.
The URA Visiting Scholars Program at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory was established in 2007 as a five-year program to support visits by researchers from the Universities Research Association, Inc. (URA) institutions to work at Fermilab for periods of up to one year in areas such as high energy physics experiments, astrophysics, theory, accelerator physics, materials science, and computer science.
Applications are judged on the scientific merit of the proposed activity and on the cost-effectiveness of the proposal. Individual awards may be up to a maximum of $50,000 in any twelve-month period with a lifetime maximum award total of $50,000 per individual.
