Katsaggelos Elected Member of IEEE Signal Processing Society’s Awards Board 2014-2016

The voting membership of IEEE annually elects officers that serve on the top-tier IEEE governing bodies.

Prof. Aggelos K. KatsaggelosProf. Aggelos K. Katsaggelos, has been elected as a Member of the IEEE Signal Processing Society’s Awards Board 2014 through 2016.

Prof. Katsaggelos was also elected as an Alternate Member of the 2014 IEEE Fellow Committee for his contributions to the theory and application of iterative image restoration methods.

The voting membership of IEEE annually elects officers that serve on the top-tier IEEE governing bodies.

The duties of the Awards Board is to solicit candidates for all Society awards and prizes in accordance with the requirements for each award; solicit nominations of candidates from among the Society’s members for IEEE Fellow grade; solicit nominations and appoint the Society’s Distinguished Lecturers annually; assist the nominations of worthy Society members for awards and recognitions that may be available from other sources outside the Society and the IEEE; review and select best paper awards from the nominations; and vet the major award nominations.

The candidates are drawn from recommendations made by divisional and regional nominating committees. In addition, the names include candidates for positions in the IEEE Standards Association, IEEE Technical Activities, and IEEE-USA.
