Professor Hani Mahmassani has been recognized as one of the top 10 thought leaders in Transportation by ENO Transportation Weekly in partnership with the Council of University Transportation Centers. Among the list there are 2 Researchers who received their PhD’s at Northwestern University.
Professor Mahmassani is the Director of the Transportation Center, serves as the William A. Patterson Distinguished Chair in Transportation, and is a Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering here at Northwestern University. Professor Mahmassani specializes in multimodal transportation systems analysis, planning and operations, dynamic network modeling and optimization, and transit network planning and design. He received his Ph.D. in Transportation Systems from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, M.S. from Purdue University, and B.S.C.E. from the University of Houston.
