David Nielsen graduated in 2022 from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point with a bachelor’s degree in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. While doing so he wrote software to gather data and detect collisions in a muon detector that was built by another student and professor in a NASA-funded project. On top of his bachelor’s degree, he participated in a certification program through Columbia University in Artificial Intelligence.

David was an intern at Nelson Jameson, a food manufacturing distributor, where he worked on optimizing truck delivery routes for a new warehouse location. Through this internship, he gained experience using his computational background to solve real problems and gained insights into the impact that AI can make on a company. With this experience and the knowledge acquired from Northwestern University, David’s goal is to move his focus to industry 4.0 and create positive impacts in manufacturing using AI.
