Louis-Charles graduated from McGill University in 2017, where he studied finance and statistics. His passion for data science emerged through his exposure to optimization problems in his investment management classes. To develop his data science skills, he pursued electives in operations research, predictive analytics and programming. Louis-Charles is proud to have won a national championship with McGill’s varsity lacrosse team.

After graduation, Louis-Charles joined McKinsey & Company’s Montreal office as a Business Analyst. He worked on a variety of projects (strategic reviews, M&A due-diligence or analytics transformations) for institutional investor, banking, utility, airline and industrial clients. Louis-Charles most enjoyed advanced analytics projects, where he leveraged both his industry knowledge and modeling abilities to inform investment or strategy decisions. During some of these projects, he developed statistical models on behalf of clients, during others, he served as a translator between larger data science teams and client executives. Highlights of his career at McKinsey include the development of various potential COVID-19 scenarios on behalf of a public sector client, the evaluation of an AI pricing solution’s business value for a client and the development of a returns forecasting tool on behalf of a real estate investor. During his real estate mandate, Louis-Charles built 200+ predictive models, allowing him to forecast future returns across regions and sub-asset classes, through Monte-Carlo simulation. In addition to his client work, Louis-Charles was involved in undergraduate recruiting efforts and was a member of the Canadian BA leadership group (working closely with partners to improve the overall BA experience).

Louis-Charles looks forward to exchanging ideas and experiences with his MSiA classmates and professors. He hopes to gain exposure to the tech industry or to the field of quantitative finance through the MSiA internship program and is excited by the opportunity to apply his newly honed skills in industry projects.
