After growing up in Orlando, Dylan attended the University of Florida where he graduated with a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering and a minor in Business Administration. He particularly enjoyed his coursework related to operations research, statistics, and decision support systems. He earned UF’s 4-Year Outstanding Scholar Award for being the top student in his graduating class.

Dylan’s interest in data analysis was sparked during his first of many internships. At Lockheed Martin, he analyzed production data to drive process improvements in a guided missile manufacturing plant. He was amazed by the financial impact that data analysis could have on a company. At Raytheon, Dylan’s interest in data analysis continued to grow as he combined quantitative and qualitative data to create a standard set of hand tools used throughout a large production site. At Procter & Gamble, Dylan gained experience cleansing, processing, and presenting data as he developed an inventory tracking system used daily by 28 analysts. Most recently, at Crowley Maritime, he built upon this experience by creating dashboards to help management visualize their data and make better decisions.

In the MSiA program, Dylan is looking forward to expanding his data analysis toolkit. He hopes to improve his programming skills and learn new statistical techniques so that he can take on companies’ biggest data-related challenges.
