Carol is a Chicagoland native who first developed an interest in statistics, especially when used in business applications, in high school. This led her to pursue her Bachelor of Arts degree in Statistics and Kellogg Certificate in Managerial Analytics at Northwestern University. Throughout Carol’s undergraduate career, she grew increasingly interested in the intersection of statistics, computer science, and business through exposure to the power and impact of analytics from her coursework and internships. Prior to graduation, Carol completed internships with Goldman Sachs, Nielsen, and IBM.

After graduation, Carol joined IBM’s consulting wing in the Business Analytics and Strategy service line. During her time at IBM, Carol worked on various projects and roles. Among her numerous roles, Carol managed a $34MM global project for a life sciences firm, defined requirements to redesign a major automotive manufacturer’s e-commerce platforms, served as the business development lead for a new strategic initiative, and analyzed over 1MM rows of raw data to develop insights for a global pharmaceutical company. Through these experiences, Carol realized that her favorite challenges were the ones that involved working with data, and she knew that she wanted to further her skills to become a data scientist.

Carol is very excited to continue her analytics career journey with the MSiA program at Northwestern University, where she can strengthen her existing analytical and technical skills, as well as learn new techniques, through the program’s rigorous curriculum and hands-on industry projects. Carol’s goal is to ultimately apply her data science skills and experiences to challenges where she will be able to draw insights from data and make well-informed recommendations to positively and meaningfully impact the business.
