About the McCormick Customer Service Center

In concert with the objectives of NU's Highest Order of Excellence, the McCormick (McC) Customer Service Center is designed to be a professional, dedicated McCormick resource which provides on-site exemplary service to faculty and relieves department staff of administrative burden. The McC Customer Service Center is a Shared Services Concept which provides optimum infrastructure support of the school's teaching and research mission

Currently the McC Customer Service Center is involved in various aspects of research staff appointments, graduate admissions, the McCormick Annual Report, and administrative planning. A key service is J-1 and H-1B visa process management. The Customer Service Center is the liaison between McC school-wide and the NU International Office. Our specific goals are to:

Reduce overall administrative burden on faculty
Relieve department staff of redundant tasking so they can focus on specific administrative needs of individual faculty
Serve as conduit between department faculty/staff and NU Central/McCormick Administration
Provide focused expertise and policy guidance
Offer a helpdesk for faculty and staff
Create a sense of community for visiting scholars by providing a welcome center and information source

ANNUAL REPORT

Annually, each McCormick academic department and its individual faculty submit qualitative and quantitative information on their teaching, research and service contribution for the fiscal year.

The McC Customer Service Center assists with data preparation based on uploaded faculty CVs.

The on-line site for the annual report can be found at http://ar.mccormick.northwestern.edu Typically, the site opens mid-late August. All entries are due mid-November. See the annual report website for full detail.

Safety

Faculty, staff and students of the McCormick School occupy portions of ~ six buildings on the Evanston campus. Faculty and staff serve as volunteer safety wardens for respective areas within Tech Institute, Ford Engineering Design Center and Cook Hall.

Faculty Moves

The McC Customer Service Center assists new McC faculty moving to the area per the terms of their offer letter. McCormick uses national/international moving companies that are designated NU preferred vendor. To initiate a move, please contact

Notary Public
