Stephanie graduated from the University of California at San Diego (UCSD) with a BS in Bioengineering: Biotechnology. She is passionate about using robotics to improve healthcare technologies, and interested in creating assistive medical devices which augment user autonomy.

As an undergrad, Stephanie spent most of her time developing cost-effective healthcare tools for lab technicians in limited resource settings. Past projects she has worked on include an award-winning HIV drug resistance screening system for the Eduardo Mondlane Hospital in Mozambique, paper-embedded genetic circuits for rapid HIV diagnosis, and novel miRNA biosensors for drug discovery. After graduating from UCSD, she spent a year working for Dr. Mark Mercola at Stanford University as a full-time researcher and lab manager.

At Northwestern, Stephanie is excited about applying her knowledge of biological systems to macroscale robotic projects which involve haptics, teleoperation, path planning, and optimal control.
