Ritwik graduated in 2014 from VIT University (India) with a Bachelor's degree in Technology majoring in Electronics and Communication engineering. Prior to joining the MSR program, he set up a student-run Aerial Robotics research center at his University, that worked on projects in collaboration with various defense and civilian institutions.

Ritwik is passionate about developing robotics technologies that can ultimately be used to benefit mankind, and he has always tried to invest his time into projects that support this passion. For his efforts, he was cited and honored as a special achiever in his graduating class, and is currently mentioned as notable alumni of the University.

He joined the MSR program soon after his graduation in 2014, hoping to develop his expertise in Robotics. While at Northwestern, he worked on a variety of projects spanning topics such as planning in uncertainty, stochastic modeling for localization and navigation, optimal control, and robotic manipulation. He spent his summer during the MSR program interning with a stealth Silicon Valley startup, Auris Surgical Robotics. Where he used his experience in probabilistic robotics and computer vision to develop navigation systems for the company's platform. He later joined the company as a full time engineer, immediately after his graduation from MSR in December 2015.
