Policies & Procedures

A significant concern of accepting sponsored research awards is compliance with sponsor, institutional, and school guidelines and policies. Both faculty and staff must be aware of policies and procedures to ensure that the research projects are being carried out effectively, efficiently, safely, and in accordance with these guidelines and policies.

Please note that this is not a comprehensive list of policies. The Northwestern University policy repository can be found on the University Policies website. Additional unit based policies can be found on unit websites, in particular those of the Office for Sponsored Research (OSR) and the Office of Accounting Services for Research and Sponsored Programs (ASRSP).

Institutional Policies
