Engineering Career Development (ECD)

ECD provides students with programs and services to help them obtain work experience that will complement their academic curriculum. Relevant work experience is available through four different programs:

ECD also develops partnerships with employers, non-profit organizations, and research entities to establish work opportunities for McCormick graduates.

Northwestern Career Advancement

Northwestern Career Advancement (NCA) provides career counseling and advising services to undergraduate and graduate students in McCormick programs. NCA assists students with exploring majors and career paths, developing a job and internship search plan, resume/CV and cover letter development, and the graduate school application process. Students can schedule an appointment with their NCA adviser through CareerCat.

NEXT is a one-day job shadowing program that offers current Northwestern students the opportunity to accompany alumni at their place of employment.

Career Mentoring Program

Sponsored by the Sheil Catholic Center at Northwestern, this program offers one-on-one and small-group conversation between students and mentors about career-related questions/concerns.

Summer Internship Grant Program

SIGP is a campus-wide initiative spearheaded by student leaders, Northwestern Career Advancement, and the Northwestern Alumni Association to support students who intern during the summer at typically non-paid internships.
