Bruce Lindvall Named Outstanding University Representative of the Year

Bruce Lindvall, assistant dean for graduate studies, was selected as the 2011 Outstanding University Representative of the Year by the National GEM Consortium, which promotes the participation of underrepresented groups in post-graduate science and engineering education and the technical workforce.

Lindvall will receive the award at the GEM 35th Anniversary Conference and Gala in August.

As assistant dean for graduate studies, Lindvall is responsible for the management and growth of existing and future graduate degree programs at McCormick. He works closely with others to coordinate strategic planning, integrated brand marketing, and the student learning environment. Lindvall also chairs Northwestern’s Science and Engineering Committee for Multicultural Affairs (SECMA).

Lindvall has previously worked in higher education administration for The College Board, the University of Kansas, and Purdue University. He received a BS in mathematics, an MS in guidance and counseling, and a PhD in educational administration, all from Purdue University.
