Rebecca Weaver Gill Named McCormick STAR Award Winner

Rebecca Weaver-Gill

Rebecca Weaver-Gill, research coordinator and assistant to the director at the Transportation Center, was recently named the winter STAR award winner at a McCormick staff recognition event.

The STAR award, which stands for Staff Team Appreciation and Recognition award, is given quarterly to a McCormick staff member who demonstrates leadership and goes above and beyond regular job duties. Staff and faculty can nominate potential award winners, and a selection committee recommends a finalist to the dean for selection.

Weaver-Gill was nominated for her customer focus and initiative.

“Your collegiality and ability to bring people together is evident by the student movie night that you coordinated,” states the award. “Your willingness to handle the event logistics demonstrated your commitment and customer focus. The center values your positive attitude, which creates a welcoming environment and allows for idea sharing. You serve as an essential resource in research activities and much more, all of which make you an extraordinary asset to the center.”
