McCormick Senior Among Inc. Magazine’s ‘15 Women to Watch in Tech’

Hannah Chung and Aaron Horowitz

Hannah Chung (mechanical engineering, ’12) has been named on Inc. Magazine’s list of “15 Women to Watch in Tech.”

Chung is one of the co-founders of Design for America, a Northwestern student initiative that affects social change through interdisciplinary design. Among her creations with the group is Jerry the Bear (co-designed with Aaron Horowitz, pictured above), an interactive, robotic toy for children with Type 1 diabetes.

“With a background in engineering and art, 22-year-old Chung is passionate about making the world a better place,” the article states.

DFA has since expanded to eight universities, and Jerry the Bear will soon be used in clinical trials.

Chung and Horowitz were also recently featured in the MIT Technology Review.
